WHAT’S INCLUDED
reset your nervous system.
Every ASMR service is different because every person’s nervous system is different. Before we start, we spend a few minutes finding out what resonates with you. Here is how a typical session unfolds.
Sensory Consultation
We start with a brief, quiet conversation about what you’re hoping to feel. Do you respond more to light touch or a little pressure? Do you love the sound of soft brushing or prefer silence? Have you experienced ASMR before? Your answers shape the session, because nothing about the experience is one-size-fits-all.
The Sensory Experience
You settle in and the session begins slowly. Your esthetician uses hands, brushes, and gentle sensory tools across the scalp, neck, and face in deliberate, unhurried movements. Soft tapping, brushing, and quiet spoken guidance are introduced as triggers alongside the touch. Every transition happens gradually so your nervous system never gets startled out of its relaxed state.
Winding Down and Close
As the session nears its end, the movements slow even further and the stimulation gradually fades so your body comes out of the relaxed state naturally. There’s no timer going off or rush to get up. You’re given time to settle back in, take a breath, and leave when you feel ready.
WHAT IT IS
ASMR is the pleasant tingling you feel in response to gentle touch and soft sound. Research shows it activates the same relaxation pathways as meditation. At Pausa, we’ve built facial and scalp ASMR services around this response with slow movements, sensory tools, and licensed estheticians who know how to guide your nervous system into deep calm. You don’t have to know anything about ASMR to feel it work.
FEATURES
Every sense, engaged.
Slow, rhythmic pressure across the scalp that releases tension and triggers that signature tingling sensation from root to crown.
Light, repetitive tapping across the face that calms the nervous system while gently stimulating circulation underneath the skin.
Whispered cues, soft tool sounds, and ambient layering designed to pull your mind out of overthinking and into stillness.
Chilled rollers and globes glide across the face and neck, calming inflammation while delivering a crisp, awakening sensation.
Slow, sculpting strokes across the face that boost circulation, ease facial tension, and leave your skin with a natural, lifted glow.
Targeted pressure on key points across the face and scalp that relieve built up tension and encourage a deep state of calm.
BENNIFITS
Your nervous system shifts into a slower rhythm as layered sensations quiet racing thoughts and ease you into total stillness.
Cortisol drops as gentle, repetitive touch signals safety to your body, melting away the tightness that builds from daily stress.
Many clients drift off mid-session. The slow pacing and sound layering mimic the conditions your brain needs to fully wind down.
Tight jaw, shoulders, and scalp muscles loosen as pressure and rhythm work together to release tension stored from head to neck.
From arrival to aftercare.
PREPARATION
Come in with clean, makeup-free skin so your esthetician can fully assess what it needs. Try to arrive a few minutes early to settle in, since this treatment works best when your body is already starting to slow down. If you're sensitive to sound or touch, mention it beforehand so we can adjust the pacing and pressure to your comfort.
Your skin still gets a real treatment, cleansing, gentle exfoliation, and targeted products, but it's layered with slow tapping, soft tool sounds, and rhythmic touch designed to calm your nervous system as your skin is worked on. There's no rushing here. Many clients drift in and out of sleep as the sensory layers take over.
Give yourself a few minutes after your session before jumping back into anything stimulating, your body will still be in a deeply relaxed state. Skin care wise, treat it like any other facial: avoid heavy makeup and direct sun for the rest of the day. Most clients leave feeling both physically refreshed and mentally reset.

PREPARATION
From arrival to aftercare.
Stop using retinoids, exfoliating acids, and active skincare products at least 6 days before your appointment. Come with clean skin and avoid picking or extracting at home, it can increase inflammation and make your session less effective. Write down any products you're currently using and your skin goals so your esthetician can build the right plan from day one.
Your esthetician will analyze your skin and customize every step based on what your skin needs that day. Expect targeted cleansing, professional extractions, and corrective products designed to clear and calm. This isn't a relaxation facial, it's a working session. Communicate openly about sensitivity or discomfort so adjustments can be made in real time.
Avoid makeup, direct sun, heat, and strenuous activity for at least 48 hours to let your skin heal properly. Follow your prescribed homecare routine exactly. The products your esthetician recommends are part of the treatment, not optional. Your skin may purge initially, which is normal and expected as breakouts clear from deeper layers.

FAQs
Common ASMR questions.
ASMR stands for autonomous sensory meridian response, the tingling, relaxing sensation some people get from gentle sounds and touch. It often starts at the scalp and spreads down the neck and shoulders, paired with a deep sense of calm.
Not everyone gets the tingles, and that's completely normal. Even without the tingling sensation, the slow pacing, gentle touch, and calming sounds still bring real relaxation and stress relief, so the treatment is worth experiencing either way.
An ASMR facial is a real skincare treatment, cleansing, exfoliation, and targeted products, layered with slow tapping, soft tool sounds, and rhythmic touch. You get the same skin benefits as a regular facial, just paired with deeper sensory relaxation throughout.

Expect a slow, unhurried session built around gentle touch, soft sounds, and rhythmic movement. There's no rushing here. Let your esthetician know about any sensitivities to sound or touch beforehand so the pacing and pressure can be adjusted to your comfort.
If you want skincare results along with the sensory experience, start with the Tingle & Glow ASMR Facial. If you're purely looking for relaxation without a facial, the ASMR Scalp & Hair Play session is a great lower-commitment way to try it out.
The Tingle & Glow ASMR Facial is $185 for a one hour session. The ASMR Scalp & Hair Play session starts at $75 for 30 minutes, with an extended 45 minute experience available for $95.
Yes, no prior experience is needed. Many first-time clients come in curious rather than certain they'll feel tingles, and still leave feeling calmer and more relaxed than when they arrived.
